About the Detachment

The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923, in part by General John A. Lejeune, and chartered by the 75th United States Congress on 4 August 1937, signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It remains the only federally chartered veteran service organization devoted solely to Marines.

Lake of the Ozarks Detachment 1137 is one of its local detachments, chartered under the Department of Missouri within the League's Central Region, and serves the Lake of the Ozarks area from our detachment home in Kaiser.

Mission of the Marine Corps League

To promote the interests and preserve the traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen and FMF Chaplains who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.

The detachment home

Our home at 3709 Kaiser Road flies the national, POW/MIA and Marine Corps colors out front, with the tank on its pad alongside the building.
